Carnegie Shop

Carnegie Shop is our own on-line shop. We aim to stock books and booklets as well as DVDs and CDs all about the history and heritage of Hull and its people. Please have a look around. To make a purchase, simply click on the product you wish to purchase from, then choose your postage preference at the checkout and postage rates will be calculated based on the total weight of the order, which can work out much cheaper for multiple book orders.

Goods are sent using Royal Mail 1st class or 2nd class in the UK, whichever you choose at the checkout. International sales are welcome and sent via airmail. Orders can be up to 2kg in weight in total. All payments are processed by paypal by using your debit, credit card or paypal account.

We offer a 14 day returns policy if you change your mind. We only ask you return the goods at your own cost in a saleable condition. If you have enjoyed looking around our on-line shop please let us know. Also, if you have any request or enquiry about any other Hull products, we will be happy to assist.  All the proceeds from the sale of items on this website help us to support the running of the charity in it's work.

Hull • Then & Now 5

The fifth edition in the Hull, Then & Now series by Paul Gibson is available from Carnegie Heritage Centre. Chapter 1 features many shops around the city, both inthe centre of town and in the side streets showing images from victorian and edwardian Hull alongside colour images of today. Chapter 2 looks at the various forms of motor transport around  in Hull. Again then and now photographs show the changes over time. Chapter 3 shows the many pubs we had in the city alongside photos from today. This book features 173 pages with hundreds of previously unseen images which together show Hull at the beginning of the last century.

"This book stands mountain high above the collections of old photgraphs which are now being issued in such quantities and often with totally inadequate captions."

John Markham (well known Hull historian)
